Stowmarket Carnival

18th, 19th & 20th July 2025

Stowmarket Carnival is a wonderful family event, providing affordable fun and entertainment for local families. We had a fabulous Carnival 2024 – thanks to all who took part, supported, and attended.  Now we are starting to plan for an even better Carnival in 2025!

And just like the last two years, visiting the Carnival will be FREE!

Looking back at 2024

We had a packed programme in 2024!

And we featured some *NEW* items – like the Friday evening Trail Run starting and finishing on the Recreation Ground, where we were treated to a *FREE* Concert by the talented Stowmarket Concert Band.

And throughout Sunday there were other *NEW* activities on the Rec especially for Children, kindly sponsored by Climax Molybdenum, including arts & crafts, circus skills … and a Flea Circus!

Saturday morning there was a lot of frantic activity as the Procession assembled at Bosch (floats) and Meadlands Social Club (others).  The Procession started at 12:30pm and made its way to the Recreation Ground by about 2pm.

And as usual, from Friday evening till Sunday afternoon, the Rec featured a variety of music acts and a range of sideshows and displays.  With craft and charity stalls, and plenty of food and drink stalls too.

The Stowmarket Carnival concluded on the Sunday with the traditional closing Church Service.

Carnival Procession

The all-important Carnival Procession takes place on the Saturday of Carnival weekend.  Led by the Carnival Court, with floats, vehicles, walkers, dancers, singers, and fancy dress galore.

Our theme for 2024 was “Decades”, so from William the Conqueror to the present day, there was lots to choose from!

The Procession leaves the Meadlands roundabout around 12:30 on the Saturday, going westward through Combs Ford and the town, arriving at the Recreation Ground around 2pm.

What's On?

From Friday evening till Sunday afternoon, the Recreation Ground (the Rec) features a variety of music acts and sideshows and displays, a range of craft and charity stalls, and plenty of food and drink stalls too. And the ever-popular Stocks Funfair will also be on the Rec for Carnival weekend.  Further information for Carnival 2025 will be added nearer the time.

Enjoy your Stowmarket Carnival – fun for all the family!

Seeing 1000’s of people coming out of their houses and coming together as a community enjoying the whole weekend together with friends and strangers.

A great opportunity to celebrate Stowmarket, meet new people and to be a royal for a period. It is a great event which makes people happier when watching and it shows the outcome of work done by a group of hard working Carnival team. Also it can show off what’s going on in Stowmarket too.
