Stowmarket Carnival ProcessionThe procession is one of the much loved highlights of the Stowmarket Carnival.

Come along to the Procession and cheer on all the dancers, bands, floats and vehicles – and don’t forget to drop your coins in the red collection buckets!

These pictures look back to July 2023, with the streets thronged with locals and visitors.  Our theme for our 2023 Carnival was “Stowmarket past, present, future”, and we were delighted to be joined by many members of previous Carnival Courts!

In 2024 our theme is Decades!  And we are looking forward to seeing amazing entries from previous centuries to the present day.

We take safety very seriously!  If you are taking part in the procession, then please view this video of the Safety Briefing which took place on Friday 5th July 2024.

And our thanks to Wandering River for doing the filming for us.

Bacton Transport have agreed again to provide us with some lorries for the Procession floats – we are very grateful to them for this.

The Procession will leave the Meadlands roundabout 12:30 on Saturday 13th, going westward through Combs Ford and the town arriving at the Recreation Ground around 2:30pm.

To let the procession move easily through Stowmarket, road closures will be in place, and every year we please ask that you adhere to these on the day and respect the instructions of the Traffic Marshalls.

We really appreciated everyone coming out to support the Carnival Procession – a lot of time and effort goes into creating the floats and it is lovely to see all the pavements filled with people watching the Procession.

A great opportunity to celebrate Stowmarket, meet new people and to be a royal for a period. It is a great event which makes people happier when watching and it shows the outcome of work done by a group of hard working Carnival team. Also it can show off what’s going on in Stowmarket too.
