Run by unpaid volunteers, and relying heavily on sponsorship and donations of both money and services, the Carnival provides affordable fun and entertainment for local families.
These days it costs over £20,000 to put on a Carnival like ours, so we are delighted to receive financial help both from businesses and from individual people.
While we prefer general donations, which we are free to spend as we need, some businesses sponsor particular items – for example, in 2023 Portable Spaces sponsored the toilets on the Rec! Unglamorous, maybe, but essential for a great day out with the family.
We thank and feature our business Sponsors on our website and social media – whether they have offered us services at a discount, or offered us money. And we also feature Sponsors in the printed Carnival programme which is distributed to local families before the event.
Individuals who shop online can also offer us financial support completely FREE – sign up to easyfundraising and choose to benefit Stowmarket Carnival. Then over 7,000 brands will now donate to us for FREE every time you use easyfundraising to shop with them.
People can also support us via our fundraisers, and by donating to the Carnival directly via this PayPal QR code.
But don’t forget that one of the every best ways to help the Carnival is to be there! Join the crowds lining the streets to cheer on the procession, throw coins in the collection buckets, join us on the Recreation Ground to enjoy the music, and buy something from one of the stalls.
